The semantics of a word is primarily specified in the
synsem 
local content value of the sign which captures the
lexical entry of the word. The synsem local context value also
may contain information relevant to its interpretation, although this
feature is used to specify background conditions on the utterance
context rather than truth-conditional meaning. In what follows I will
concentrate on the content values.
